Final Brave New World Post

1. Why are the people in the end so violent if Mond claims that they all have "happiness"?

2. Do you think that John's suicide will actually impact the One State, will it prove his point?

3. Why does Orwell use violence to create equality, while Huxley provides "Soma" to his story if they were both trying to create a Utopian society?

"Communist Utopia" by Thomas Hornung

-What about this painting indicates communism?
The eyes indicate communism because they are constantly watching the man-never looking away, just like communist watch their citizens intently to make sure everything is equal and in order. The way the man is standing away in plain gray clothes also shows that he is trying to blend in or become an equal to everyone else.

-What is the artist's view of communism?
The artist has a negative view towards communism because the painting has no life. It is dull and monochromatic. He paints a scene with rough surroundings probably to portray communism as a sketchy thing.

-Explain the title.
I think that the title is an oxymoron. I think the title is doing exactly what a title should do- portray the scene is is named after. In this sense, the title is showing what a communist utopia would look like.

"Don't you want me?" by The Human League

1. What is the subject matter/
The song is about an relationship that is came to an end and the guy is upset that the girl wants to move on.

2. What is the difference in the 2 sides of the story?
The man said that girl would not be where she is today if it weren't for him. He is angry that she won't take him back so he kind of threatens her. The girl says that she just needed to move on and that she would have bettered her life with or without him.

3. With who do you side & why?
I side with the woman because the man seem a little controlling and it seems like the girl really could have improved her life without him.

"Rain on the Scarecrow" by John Mellencamp

1. This song is about a man losing his farm to the government. He was one of many who lost his land. The government is taking them and it is not right.

2. This song might address the problem of the government taking peoples' home; homes that had been in their family for a long time, and now these people do not know what to do.

3. Mellencamp chooses a scarecrow to symbolize farming and the defenseless farmer.

4. Mellencamp uses "blood" because it has a negative connotation and it resembles death, just like the farm is "dying" because it has lost all of its support.

5. Mellencamp is on the farmer's side because he presents the farmer sympathetically. He makes the farmer's friend Schepman look bad, while John (the farmer) is still nice to him. For example, Schepman says sorry and then John says, "I will say a prayer for you tonight."

Brave New World Post #2

1. What were to happen if Soma disappeared?
I think that chaos would happen. It seems like the entire society is revolves around Soma because without it everyone would be angry and upset, like Bernard feels when he is not on the drug. This new anger could cause uprisings and revolts or change the way of life in this society. This probably would mean that war would eventually breakout, resulting in death and destruction. Soma would have ghastly effects on the society if it were to disappear.

2. Why are people fascinated by John, when they call the rest of the people like him savages?
I think that people are interested in him because he was accepted by and related to higher class people. I believe there is also the chance that people are curious because he actually has a mother and father, where as others were created in a factory. John has no twin, which is very different from norm, making him stand out even more.

3. Why wasn't Bernard punished for exposing the Director?
It seems like a mystery to me why Bernard was left unpunished. The Ford State seems very organized and wants specific things, so when something went out of order, it was puzzling why they didn't react harshly. I honestly don't know why Bernard wasn't punished, maybe his punishment is on the way? I have no clue at all.

Brave New World Post #1

In Brave New World, equality is created by producing almost identical people. Up to 96 offspring can be produced from one embryo. After the offspring are physically identical, they are then conditioned during gestation to become a member of a certain caste or social class. They mentally and physically modify the children to be perfects fits in their own castes. They also use a method called Hypnopedia to subconsciously "train" or condition the children to teach them their morals and values which then also leads to equality. To reduce conflict the government provides a drug called Soma, which creates a feeling of happiness and helps suppress the thoughts of trouble that could affect the mental equality of the caste. The usage of Soma is one of the ways they have creates happiness, but the usage of erotic behavior, especially in kids, is also a factor. They also supply expensive toys and games in order to boost the economy and keep the citizens satisfied. This society is very much like a utopia. Although it might not seem like it to us, but to the people of the book, this is their way of life and are very content with it. In fact, in chapter 6 Lenina states that, "..Everbody is happy nowadays." If everyone is happy, isn't it a utopia?

Journal Entry #3 1984 Post

I think that Big Brother really did win in the end. I think this because Winston succumbs to O'Brien which I think is symbolic to that Winston is succumbing to the power of Big Brother and the party. Also in the end of the story, Winston "without a pause...wrote two plus two equals five" (287). This defiantly shows that Big Brother won because the entire story line was about Winston trying to not believe everything the government told him. The One State is very powerful, so it would would be difficult to bring it down. The rebellion would have to start off then escalate into something much bigger, for the party would be able to stop anything small. I think that in the end Winston is completely brainwashed and will remain like that forever. He accepts everything the party says and does, he doesn't even acknowledge Julia anymore. I believe that Big Brother defiantly won.

"This Land Is Your Land" by Woodie Guthrie

-Is Guthrie's message individualist or collectivist? Explain.
It is an individual message because he constantly says "you and me"- not "us."

-Do you find this song to be pro-government or anti-government?
I think it is anti-government because he is always saying that no one can stop me.

The Egg questions

1. The man was a happy, outspoken, hard-working man before he got married. After marriage he became quiet and unenthusiastic.

2. The narrator views chickens in a bad way and they have nothing good about them. He associates them with disappointment.

3. The narrator says he had trouble as a kid because the parents were constantly trying to find success and they couldn't.

4. It could be a symbol for the father because he wants to entertain people with the egg but it is not working and won't ever work so he is "stuck" in the jar.

5. It means that the parents finally realized that they could not be successful. It means that there will always be lower class because chickens will always lay eggs.

American Friends

-What could be some reasons Americans are perceived in this way/
There are many reasons why people could perceive this as true, In the article, the author states, "Americans use the word 'friend' to mean anyone I have spoken to a few times." I would agree with this because sometimes I catch myself saying, "Oh my friend.." when I have actually met/talked to him or her once or twice. This doesn't mean that friendships in American are wrong or fake, it just means that we a different culture involved with friendships. People don't have any right to judge other people from different parts of the world because they don't know about their culture.

collectivist vs. individualist

-In a collectivist culture, what personality traits are likely to be considered ideal? what about in an individualist culture?
As an individual it is just you, only your personal responsibilities are what you worry about. A collectivist is to be loyal to the group that belong to and do things to better the welfare of the group-not just them.

-The scenario question:
I think that this is a collectivist society because no one will challenge the important people or people with authority; in fact, they are scared to even question them.

-Create a specific problem.
A teach might have problems encouraging kids to do well in his/her class. An individualist teacher would might offer some type of reward for the best of some assignment, but in a collectivist society would offer a reward to the entire class if the entire group achieved  something.

-What is an acquaintance? Does the word have a positive or negative connotation? Explain.
An acquaintance is someone whom you are familiar with but not very close too. I think it has a negative connotation because saying someone is your acquaintance is saying you know him or her but they aren't your friend and that sounds bad.

1984- Journal Entry #2

I believe that Winston is having a hard time buying into what Big Brother and the State are selling because of Julia. Julia is the one person Winston has feelings for that he can not understand. This confusions leads to his uncertainty of Big Brother and the party. I do not think Winston's thinking and questioning the government aren't any form of protest. He knows that he shouldn't be questioning Big Brother like he does but he doesn't understand why he it is bad and I think that in order to protest you should fully understand the cause you are supporting or defying. These acts of rebellion Winston portrays are both similar and different to the rebelliousness that is occurring now in this country. They are the same in the fact that the government is turning a blind eye to the protesters on wall street just the party did in 1984. The are different because in 1984 the party makes sure that when they turn a blind eye, the rest of the people turn one too, but today people all over the country are hearing about the Tea Party Movement and Occupy Wall Street even if they aren't participating and/or supporting it.

"2+2=5" Radiohead

-What is the song talking about lyrically?
The song is talking about how a government is altering people's lives without them knowing. When they finally realize this, it is too late to fix because no one was paying attention.

-How does the music mimic or help push the message?
The music is quiet and calm at first but then it becomes very loud and harsh when the singer says "pay attention." This puts emphasis on the stupidity of the people who didn't pay attention to the government.

-The title is an allusion to 1984. Explain the connection.
It alludes to 1984 because in the book, Winston directly says that in the book. He is talking about how persuasive the government is and if they were to tell people 2+2=5, people would believe it.

Globalization

-The conflict is external because it is what she feels, and its between her and the US.

-Globalization creates conflict because it is very "one-sided." The speaker means that globalization doesn't include everyone.

-The benefit related to globalization is according to the speaker, you can see what it is like to be a woman.

-The two values were the Qur'an and the constitution.

1984- Journal Entry #1

Winston Smith lives in a totalitarian society where "The Party" rules across Oceania. The Party has created equality throughout this country by psychologically altering the citizens' minds. They govern the people so precisely that they make sure there is no freedom at all. "Thinkcrime" (just thinking to yourself, writing in a journal, ect.) was even punishable by death. They have made it so there is no individuality; they restrict most freedoms, constantly blare propaganda throughout the country, and make it so no one has any more rights. They even alter history records to make sure the people believe in what the Party says is true, not what actually happened in history. They make relationships a shameful thing; in fact, the Party has to approve of a couples marriage and if any physical attraction is shown then the relationship is not granted. They also alter everyone's views on sex making it seem like a horrible thing and that sex is only needed for the reproduction of Party supporters. I wouldn't say it is forced happiness because other then Winston, no one knows they are being forced and restricted. The Party is mainly altering people's lives so that it seems like conformity.
The world Orwell creates in 1984 is a utopia according to definition because every one is happy and equal.

Utopia

-What is a "utopia"?
It means a perfect society or universe.

-What is your ideal world? Explain.
My ideal world would be close to what life is like today because there is a good balance between suffering and happiness. Most people would say a perfect world is a place where no one is mean or wrong, but for me that's far from it. Without pain and sadness no one would be able to feel what true happiness felt like. If no one were to be judged or we were all equal it would horrible because there would be individuality and I think that is very important in a world.

-What type of music would be the soundtrack to your utopia?
I don't really have a type because in my utopia everyone has freedom so that includes freedom to listen to whatever one pleases so I don't really have a specific type.

Chuck Baird

-Make a claim about the artist's voice & support with facts.
CL: The artist is deft.
-- First painting uses sign language.
-- Second painting has exaggerated tongue movements.
-- Third painting uses vibrant colors, meaning the focus is on the visual appearance just like deft people have to focus of the visual appearance of things.

-Identify a culture within these paintings.
The man is deft and not white.

-Write a claim you could make about this culture based on the paintings.
Deft people focus on vision like color and light in life more then anything.

You Were Right

-Make and inference of the song and explain it.
When he says "All that glitters isn't gold," he is talking about how everything isn't always what its seems (probably a relationship). This is proven throughout the song because the singer keeps talking about how things didn't work out.

-Write one analytical statement about the musical content of the song and explain it.
The tempo was faster then I thought it was going to be so it shows he isn't depressed about the end, he is just saying life will go one.

-Make one evaluative statement about the song's over all effectiveness and support it.
I thought that the song didn't effectively bring the main points across because the lyrics and instruments/tempo contrasted make me confused.

"Young Life" Bo Bartlett

-3 claims about this painting
1) The little boy in the painting is neglected.
-- The way Bartlett placed the boy with his back turned and a solemn expression on his face away from his very close parents symbolizes that they may not pay much attention to their child but more to each other.

2) The man likes to hunt.
-- The rifle in his hand, the dead deer on top of the truck, and the attire the man is wearing shows his love for hunting.

3) The man and woman are not married.
The woman is not wearing a wedding ring on her left hand.

Paragraph:
In Bo Bartlett's painting "Young Life," the small child in the painting is neglected. Bartlett's placement of the characters prove how the little boy is ignored by his parents. The way the boy is placed far away with his back turned shows that his relationship between him and his parents is distant. Also, the way the parents are draped over each other with out looking at the child might also suggest that they care more about each other rather than their own child. The young boy is clearly neglected in the painting "Young Life" by Bo Bartlett.

"Shame" - The Avett Brothers

Subject:
A guy is talking about how he wants to get back together with his girlfriend and he is ashamed of what his did, so the main point of this song is shame.

Tone:
The singer seems regretful.

3 words that contribute to the tone:
-posing
-strutted
-boatloads

Dialect Movie

-In you opinion, what is voice in literature?
I think that voice is the way an author brings out his or her opinions in their writing.

-How does a person create his voice when writing? Is creating voice an intentional or unintentional act? Is it both? Explain.
In order to create voice, an author uses specific word choices, syntax, and their tone. Creating voice is defiantly intentional because author's want to bring points across that with out their voice, it wouldn't have much affect.

-Many people in Eastern Kentucky talk around a subject. According to the speaker, why do they do this? What can we learn about a writer from the way she approaches/handles a topic?
According to the speaker, we talk like this because of our culture and our culture creates a rhythm to our dialect. We can learn more about a writer by the rhythm of his/her writing.

-Whether it is fiction or non fiction, why is voice important in writing?
It is important because it gives the readers an idea of what the author is trying to say to them.

Reading Critically

Before reading something, a reader receives hints and clues to the content of the piece. The title says a lot about a piece, and so does having knowledge about the author, and where/when it was published. The first time you read a piece, just read it without trying to analyze it. Become familiar with the author's voice, try to identify the subject, and make not of the main points. After reading, summarizing a work will help you understand it better. After all of this, you begin the process of critical thinking: analyzing, making inferences, synthesizing and evaluating. In analyzing something, a reader should look at the author's main points and, support for the idea/writing elements. By making inferences, you "draw conclusions on a work based on your store of information and experience". In your synthesis, you are able to link the ideas you pointed out in the analysis in order to bring the big ideas together. And finally, you can evaluate the work of the author.

Batting Clean-Up and Striking Out

Subject
The subject of Dave Barry’s Batting Clean-Up and Striking Out is that women and men have very different interests and opinions, like cleaning and sports for instance. This difference between the thoughtfulness of women and men to different customs is illustrated through Barry’s example of a social event and the division of activities between males and females that took place. Men and women became separated as each of the sexes wanted to partake in the activity they preferred. This demonstrates how the men and women have such differing interests, because the men were watching the World Series and the women were socializing with each other.
Occasion
The essay’s general time of creation is illustrated by the mentioning of the World Cup and Windex and other modern things. Since these objects are relatively modern, one could presume the general time span in which this essay could have been written which would be in the late 1900’s or early 2000’s. This essay was probably written in America, because Barry is American, and the reference to American products such as Windex and the American names.

The time and place of the essay’s creation influences the essay because Barry is constantly referring to certain things and events that if he were to be anywhere else or at any other time period he probably would not be referencing them.
Audience
Barry’s specific audience for his article Batting Clean-Up and Striking Out is probably men and women who are dating or in some form of a relationship. The author’s target audience is displayed through his jokes about his wife and his disagreements/separate ideas.

The author’s general audience is for young adult or anyone who is old enough to have a relationship. This is communicated through Barry’s sarcasm and causal tone.

Purpose
Dave Barry’s purpose in Batting Clean-Up and Striking Out is to be entertaining, while quickly breezing over a common subject of men and women’s differing opinions. There is no specific action the author wants his audience to do; his idea is just to entertain them. His wit is demonstrated when he tells the story of his wife asking him to clean the bathroom twice, even after he had done it still looked, “filthy” she told him.

Speaker
The speaker of the article is Dave Barry himself. He shows us this when he uses personal examples from his life to include in his article.

Tone
Barry shows a sarcastic and funny tone about the differences in the opinions between men and women in Batting Clean-Up and Striking Out. This attitude is expressed by showing his exaggeratory and sarcastic word choice throughout the piece.

Beetles vs. heavy metal

-Which of these do you like better? Why (Be specific)?
I like the Beetles's version better because it was much calmer and I don't the heavy metal genre so I already had an observer bias.

-Which of this is more pleasing to listen to? Why (be specific)?
The Beetle's version is more pleasing to listen to because it used "soft-sounding instruments" instead of "harsh-sounding instruments." I also felt like with the other song I had to strain to hear the words, but with the Beetle's version it was much easier to listen to.

Kindinksy vs. Pollack

-Which of these do you like better? Why (be specific)?
I liked the Pollack better because I thought the splatter paint technique was really interesting and everything flowed together nicely because of the similar colors.

-Which of these is more pleasing to look at? Why (be specific)?
I think the Kindinksy is more pleasing to look at because it has a lot of color and unlike the Pollack, this painting had many geometric shapes so it made it easy to identify the objects.

Short Film

-What single affect did you get from this short film?
This short film made me feel like there is opportunities for everything everywhere I look.

-Give 3 specific examples that led you to that single effects:

  • The mans optimism.
  • The others guys' emotion-less attitudes but then their unexpected friendliness towards him.
  • The editing of the story.

- If you could change one aspect what would it be and how would it affect the film's single effect?
I would change how the camera cuts away so frequently from different people. This would change the short film for the worst because those extra cuts wouldn't be able to show how opportunity is everywhere.

Harry Wilson "Good Old Desk"

- SOAPSTone this song:
Subject- a desk as a representation of God.
Occasion- Wilson is in a hard time so he is depending of his "Good Old Desk."
Audience- The people who he is trying to convince to believe in God through work.
Purpose- To compare a desk to God, to show how he is sturdy and always there.
Speaker- Wilson
Tone- Thankful

-What is he talking about?
Before- I think he is talking about a girlfriend and how this new girlfriend is amazing and Wilson is so grateful for her.
After- Wilson is talking about his relationship with God and how it is sturdy and won't fall apart like a "good old desk."

-3 examples to support this:
"To keep my hope alive" God keeps many peoples' hope alive
"Its the one friend I've got.." God is a friend to everyone that everyone can depend on
"..a giant of all times" God has been known as the main thing in peoples' lives for a long time so he is being referred to a "giant" of all times.

SOAPSTone Shooting an Elephant

Subject- The subject of George Orwell’s Shooting an Elephant is narrative story about the shooting of an elephant in Burma. An elephant becomes angered and starts trashing the place and Orwell’s fictional character, which is a policeman, sets out to kill the elephant. Orwell didn’t want to kill the elephant but he felt like he had to because he is already a minority and all of the natives were expecting him too.
Occasion- Shooting an Elephant was written in the early 1900’s. The essay’s time of creation is displayed when Orwell says, “I did not even know the British Empire was dying.” This quote is referring to the time period when Britain ruled over India from the late 1850’s to 1947. The probable place of the essay’s creation is probable Burma because everything in this article is so detailed so it seems like Orwell was able to remember what was going on very clearly.
The time and place of the essay’s creation influence the essay by creating a very fervent attitude toward the subject which would be the hate felt towards the Brits. One example that portrays this hate is when Orwell states that “…in an aimless, petty kind of way anti-European feeling was very bitter.” This supports Orwell’s point because it shows how alone and miserable he was at this time.
Audience- Orwell’s specific audience for Shooting an Elephant is for the stressed out and/or pressured workers. The authors’ target audience is revealed when Orwell discusses the pressure he was under to shoot the elephant and how the crowd really influenced his decision and actions.
The author’s general audience for the essay is working men and woman as a whole. The author’s general audience is shown to the reader when Orwell starts talking about how he was just doing his job and technically he was doing the right thing.
Purpose- Orwell’s purpose in Shooting an Elephant is to depict the effects of decision making under pressure and how someone’s judgment can be quickly influenced by the affects of a crowd. This is illustrated when Orwell states, “ The sole thought in my mind was that if anything went wrong those two thousand Burmans would see me pursued, caught, trampled on and reduced to a grinning corpse like that Indian up the hill. And if that happened it was quite probable that some of them would laugh. That would never do.” This quotes validates the purpose of the essay because it is showing how even though Orwell was had authority over the Burmans, his decisions were affected by the crowd that was watching him.
Speaker- George Orwell, who was very passionate about the colonizing of India, believes that the colonization of India was a poor choice because even thought the Britain’s had control, they were still hated amongst the natives. This value is illustrated in the beginning when Orwell is talking about the hatred he feels because he is an officer and how out-of-place he also feels just because he is from Britain.
Tone- Orwell exhibits a depressed and regretful attitude about the shooting of the elephant in Shooting an Elephant. These attitudes are expressed by Orwell’s humiliating words and attitudes in the essay. The tone specifically adds the purpose of the essay because it shows how Orwell truly felt about killing the elephant which was sad and regretful.

"Across the Universe" by the Beatles

-Identify 3 images in this song
1. "Endless rain in a paper cup"- This verse put an image of a plastic cup with water overflowing it.
2. "They slither past"- The word slither reminded me of a snake slithering on the ground.
3. "Shines around like a million suns"- This reminded me of a spot light or a disco ball.

-Are any of these images symbols in context? Explain.
The verse about the million suns could be a symbol because it is referring to love shining like a million suns so this could be symbolizing that the love is in a happy and warm relationship because light symbolizes happiness and warmth.

- Explain one symbol that you know to be a symbol. What makes it more than an image?
One symbol I know is a red heart. This is world-wide symbol for love and this is more than an image because people relate love to their hearts so when someone sees a heart, they think of love.

"Inspiration Information" by Shuggie Otis

-What the overall feel of this song?
It has a happy feel because the tempo is up beat.

-What musical element put off that vibe?
The tempo because is not slow like other songs, it is upbeat.

-Identify the choices the musician had to make to get this feel and why they worked.
They chose to keep the beat up tempo and not slow it down, this way it gives off a happy and joyful vibe.

"Semadores" Diego Rivera

-SOAPSTone the painting
Subject-the workeres
Occasion-uprising, Rivera is on side of workers
Audience- the viewers of the painting
Purpose- River painted this to portray the hard work of the workers
Speaker- the artist
Tone- Negative

-What is the meaning/theme/big idea that the artist wanted you to think about? Support your answer with artistic choices he made. (ie. color, style, subject, position, ect.)
Rivera was trying to make the artist think about how hard laborers worked and how it was not an easy life. He shows this by the position of the right man because he is hunched over and you can't see either of the workers faces.

Creative Writing Process

-Summarize Wilco's approach to creating a song.
They  take an idea, simplify or deconstruct it to see if anything can become more exciting or interesting, and they go from there.

-What is your creative process to writing?
I don't really have a process that i go through when I am writing.

-If you have no process then why not? Be specific.
I don't have a process because I usually just sit down and write what comes to mind. Eventually I go back over it to revise it, but other than that I don't do anything.

Nostalgia

What is nostalgia?
Its longing for good feelings of the past

What images come to mind when you hear this music?
It reminds me of a 60's dance with girls dressed in poodle skirts, kind of like Grease.

What images pop into your head when you think of your childhood? What smells, sounds, and feelings are associated with these images?
I think of the beach because I used to go there every summer with the same people in the same area. We would always eat a lot of seafood with Old Bay Seasoning, so when I smell Old Bay Seasoning I want to go back to the beach.

Poverty Painting

The major contributing factor to poverty is that one was born into and it is hard to get out. He or she also might be lacking in education so this means a lack of jobs.

The artist of this painting portrays poverty as a negative thing because of the bland colors she uses and the solemn expressions on the people.

The message the artist is trying to say about poverty is that even though it is hard, their is always hope and a way out.

Two elements of art that enhance the message are the bright colors of the flowers which is signifying a better life, and the bars behind the people signify that they may be trapped into poverty but because they are standing outside of them, it shows there is a way out.

Live Free and Starve vs. The Singer Solution to World Poverty

The issue of  forced child labor has been heavily debated in politics throughout many countries. There are many different opinions and views one could take about the subject. The authors Chitra Divakaruni and Peter Singer have extreme contrasting opinions. Divakaruni believes that banning child labor will do nothing to help the problem. She points out the even though the treatment of the children is cruel, giving them freedom would take away any source of income which mean loss of food, shelter, and clothes. Many  of these kids would probably choose the harsh labor with a fully belly over starvation any day. On the other hand, Singer doesn't point out whether child labor is right or wrong, but he talks about how none of this would be happening if other people weren't as selfish as they are. He says that we (meaning Americans) are just a mean and cruel as the people who sell their children for person gain because we have the money to help these kids but we don't take the time to put it to good use by donating it. Before even reading the article, I already started to form a bias against Divakaruni because I personally believe that forced child labor is morally wrong. I stand corrected. After reading Divakaruni's article, I didn't realize how much worse it could be for the children if they weren't allowed jobs. It was interesting to hear the story of the little boy who worked for her family and what his life could have been if he had been denied the job opportunity. He could have been one of, "the many children we saw by mud roads, their ribs sticking out through the rags they wore." Paragraph 6, line 4. Although Singer makes a valid point about the great affects of donations, I now believe that unless proper schooling and necessities are presented in a bill, child labor is probably a better life for kids then a life of starvation.

Ariel Pink's Haunted Grafitti "Round & Round"

-How do your musical facts influence your opinion? What is the correlation between what you picked out and your opinion? Do you have bias? If so, explain.

The facts influenced my opinion because with out them, I would have nothing to base my opinions on. Usually the facts I pointed out related to my personal opinions. For example, I stated in class that the music had multiple voices then I said I didn't like the song because I couldn't clearly make out what the vocalist was saying. I have a little bit of bias because I didn't like the artist's voice from the start so that automatically made my opinion differ.
